friends
this morning during elenora's breakfast, j. asked her "ella, who is one of your friends?" we've never asked her this question before, and he says he hadn't been talking about her friends before asking this question. but she immediately responded "rora" (for Aurora!) and after saying "Aurora" a few more times she actually had three syllables going! also, j. reminded her of Penelope... and she started saying "pee-pee" (i know... not the best nickname... but sweet that she's saying her name, anyhow). it was so fun to hear her talking about her friends.
here she is with frannie:
-
yesterday morning while i was changing her diaper she pointed to herself and said "girl" and then pointed to me and said "girl" and i said "ella, who is a boy?" and she said "daddy."
tonight while we were reading her books and she was pointing to things on the page and saying what they are, she started pointing to letters on the page and saying what they are. so i started asking her, "ella, where is a W?" or "ella, where is a P?" and she would look carefully and find each letter. it's so amazing to me that she can recognize these. although i guess they are just like anything else...and she recognizes and names pretty much EVERYTHING else.
she gets this brilliance from her daddy. (she gets her "pretty" from me!)
