fall woodstock trip

j. and i decided to reward all his hard work starting up the private practice with a nice relaxing getaway to the woodstock inn.

here's the gorgeous view from our room window (notice the moon).  the trees were all rusts and yellows, but the sun illuminated everything to a gorgeous golden.

here we are having one of the best drinks i can think of: bourbon, maple syrup, citrus, blueberries, and rosemary all crushed up together.

saturday morning we went up the windy dirt roads to get to sugarbush farm, where they make cheese and maple syrup.

we got to do a cheese and maple syrup tasting.

then we headed back down to the village and walked around by the river and back into an old cemetery. i couldn't believe how green the river was--like, this gorgeous jade green.

we finished off the trip with a long visit to the inn's sport facility.  worked out in their fitness center and then swam and went in the hot tub.

it was so lovely just to spend time together doing things we don't usually get to do with all the distractions of daily life.
