ballet, week 2

so this morning i got to go to ballet. it was seriously awesome. the whole class is so instructive and fun with lots of music and activities that really teach the little girls about ballet positions and stretches and moves. they did bar work and a dance routine as well as lining up and going across the floor doing kicks.

this tutu was from k. for ella's birthday. so adorable.

they did free-form dance with sashes until the music would stop and they would freeze in the various ballet positions before dancing again.

i think there's marked improvement since last week. i can see her getting into it more and following the other girls better. even her "skipping" was improved! this might turn her into a little athlete after all...

well, okay, maybe not. but it's darned cute.

after ballet k. met us all for brunch at a diner about three doors down from the dance studio. it was really fun to treat the girls to brunch while also having some "girls' time" ourselves.
