ella-isms

ella had a new babysitter last friday, and today i told her that s. would love to babysit her again sometime. ella responded, "and i would like to babysit her again sometime, too!"

the other day at the park, ella was standing in the jungle gym with her head poking out between the rungs, and she said "i'm serving up some ice cream here all day."  so i said, "is this your ice cream stand?"  and she replied, "yes, i'm standing in the ice cream."

today was so gorgeous outside that i strolled elenora to the high school track.  she's been very excited about tracks lately (i think one was featured in the Berenstein Bears), and you wouldn't believe how happy she was to go running with me.  she ended up running an entire mile, which i couldn't believe.  i showed her the long jump, which she also wanted to try out.  she said that when she grows up she wants to do "field and track."

a few weeks ago ella was saying that she loves me "more than anybody" and when i asked her why she said "because you do so many things with me." 

it's nice to know that all my efforts have meant so much to her.
