visit to s.c.

here are some photos from our trip to see my parents and grandparents.

my grandma and mom came to the airport to pick us up. here we are arriving at my parents' new home. we were so happy to be able to stretch our legs.

after naptime we went to a park in my mom's neighborhood.

then elenora helped me make a chocolate cake for my dad, whose birthday was the day before. ella enjoyed licking the beaters.

this was my dad's birthday dinner. my grandpa arrived just before dinner time.

happy birthday dad! you don't look 80! (just kidding. he's just 59.)

the next morning my mom pulled out some old toys for ella to play with, including an old fisher price tool kit. elenora apparently never sees anyone use tools, because she thought it was a doctor's kit and tried to use the screw driver to look in her ears. and she thought the drill was a hair dryer.

oh dear!

we spent friday just taking walks around the neighborhood. we took a walk with my grandpa and then another one with my mom and grandma.

see where elenora gets her red curls?

while my mom and i prepared thanksgiving dinner for friday night, grandma sat and read elenora "the three bears" two times. it was very sweet to see them snuggling on the couch together.

saturday morning my mom, grandma, ella and i went to a latin american outdoor market. this was probably my favorite part of the whole trip. it was so much fun.

at one point i told my mom to breathe in deeply and i said "smell that?" and she said "yeah." and i said "i want to eat that." so we rounded the corner and found a big red taco truck and all had tacos for lunch. even elenora had one. with hot sauce.

sunday we went to church for a very short time before being taken to the airport.

here's the gang.
