j. asked me today if he should play in a july 4th concert he's appeared in years past. i said "nope." he asked "why's that?" and i said "because we'll be out of the country."

another road trip. this one north to a lovely island accessible by ferry only. this is a land i've wanted to visit since my third grade years of reading "anne of green gables." at first we thought of renting a cabin, but most had two bedrooms. i searched around and found a beautiful inn with a lovely pool, free continental breakfast, and a kitchenette en suite. it's fairly close to the ocean, so i'm picturing long days of sitting on a beach with a book. sort of like our honeymoon.
