strawberry festival
this morning j. and i took elenora to russell orchard. we just wanted to see the animals and have a family outing, but it turned out to be the strawberry festival. so there was live folk music and hayrides and lots of people. lots of kids actually. we saw our neighbors from downstairs and visited the animals. elenora was fascinated again with all of the animals. it's fun for her to see these creatures in person after reading about them so much. we treated ourselves to some hummus, crackers, cheese, and strawberries. elenora enjoyed eating the crackers and cheese.
i've been feeding her a lot of different foods lately. i took out the babyfood grinder and made some spinach the other day. she wasn't crazy about the texture, but i don't think she minded the flavor since she ate it fine when it was mixed with other foods. i also cut up a fresh mango and ground that up in front of her and fed that to her. it was such a beautiful yellow and so juicy.
today is momby's birthday. 60 years old. h. came over this morning while ella napped to help me make dessert to bring this evening. strawberry shortcake trifle.
we're heading over to the B's house soon and will be there all evening. momby is making her own birthday dinner (in true momby fashion) but we're also going to play games and have the dessert and presents. she will just be so happy to have all of her kids in the house.
i'm hot and sweaty from another good workout. i'm trying to get back in the habit of going to the gym every day. i've gone four times in this one week. that makes me feel so good.
