maternity leave should start now

i guess i didn't know what to expect at all. especially right now. i mean, of course you expect that when you have a belly the size of a watermelon you'll have to slow down. but my little pumpkin--not even an inch yet--has me falling asleep at my desk three hours after i wake up from a full night's sleep.

this week the pumpkin will grow fingers and toes. so no wonder i'm exhausted, right?

besides fatigue, there's nausea. all the time. i can't ever think of anything i want to eat. but if i don't eat i throw up.

i have been waking up before my alarm by about forty five minutes every morning.

and on top of all that j. got a stomach bug two weeks ago and after i took care of him for five days i then developed the bug. nausea. fever. throw up. diarrhea.

we're over that now. thank god.

i met with the midwives yesterday. j. came with me. he's been so supportive and sweet--really helping me out around here a lot. what a darling. the midwife was wonderful. and the facility is so comfortable. i have the option for a water birth. i'm going to look into that.

but now i'm going to sleep.
