trick-or-treat

elenora had a blast trick-or-treating this year.  she would go right up to the door and before anyone had even opened it she would yell "happy halloween! trick-or-treat!"

one time when she came away from the door she said "this is the best night of my life!"

a couple of times, despite my best efforts (and hers) at good manners, someone would open the door and say "aren't you cute" and she would respond with "i want some candy."

momby joined us, and we had a great time wandering all over the neighborhood (which was full of kids this year) and then eating my traditional butternut squash soup with hot buttered bread and salad.

i heard a real whistle come out of elenora's lips!  she's been practicing so hard, and today there was one real whistle.
